This project brought together youth workers and young people to interview over 30 kaumatua and kuia from various rohe and iwi about their experiences transitioning into adulthood. The report includes one of the most comprehensive literature reviews on rites of passage and youth development for Māori and other Indigenous communities, identifying key principles that have traditionally guided this journey.
